great balance between lynott's poetic lyrics and sykes' ability !

So agree. but that is one hell of a solo here. He shreds man!

Why not compare them? I'm not saying one of Lizzy guitarists is better than the others, but there's definitely distinct style differences. Sykes was really the only metal guitarist they ever had. I'm not saying he's a bad guitarist but I don't really enjoy his style as I don't like 80s metal. He still plays great, but I hate the sound. Give me Robertson anyday personally - he rips.

This song is really not show off sykes playing. John Sykes is one of the most underated guitarist of the last 20 years.

sykes is an AWESOME guitar wiz, not only in solos but his riffs are killers for sure!!!!! sykes has a distinct style and sound and we can never try to measure one lizzy guitarist against another, that would be dumb! why do you think phil pick each one of them? Phil picked each one for a very very good reason, knowing full well what to expect from each guitarist! so, pls, sit back and enjoy, don't compare - it's nonsense! Thin Lizzy BLAZES forevermore...........

I don't like the 'fiddly metal guitar' in general but this suits the song to the very tee. Reminds me of a girl too 'lost lovers, in the summer, and you go your seperate ways'. Never a truer word said.

Like the song, just wish Gorham did the solo instead of Sykes. Too fiddly metal.

That song is a jewel,a gem to be discovered and loved by the people who loves true hard rock. Great guitar solo!!!
