There has actually been a United Nations study conducted into World IQ distribution by Nations. The average IQ for all humans was set at 100. The USA got a national average against that score of 97, which is slightly below average. So basically the USA isn't catastrophically stupid, just a fraction dumber than most other countries.

Short answer yeah they got no idea whats going outside of themselves... not like the media covers anything anyway but... if it doesn't have to do with Hollywood, money,or the price of Gas... they tune out. But really most people are like this everywhere... its just that in other countries theyre money has to do with how well the US is doing... so they care... other than that 98% of humanity are pretty much zombies that eat, shit, and reproduce. Sorry, I am pretty jaded.

Yeah but most times they dont know whats going on "in the US" either, I think the reason isn't that they dont care its that, simply as a culture, they are not inquisitive by nature like others... they dont discuss politics, news, or these kinds of things with each other, most people avoid the news (or anything informative really), In Greece EVERYBODY reads the papers, watches news intently, discusses, etc. so I would say its not that they dont care its that its not a part of their culture...
