So everything was dead quiet, he pulled his parachute when he was about the same height a normal jumper today would jump tohugh...Took him 3 hours to get up and 15 minutes to fall !!. A true Hero in his own sense, he dint change the world physically but his self goals inspires millions around the world. A true man beyond words. SOrry to write so much I want people to realize what he did was an important aspect in the advancement in everything in R world, He PROVED a THEORY,one day you could too.

But you do realize taht at that height and speed, he is and still is the first person to g faster the nthe speed of sound, the coolests part is that Since he is so high up in the air, There is WAY WAY WAY less gases (Including oxygene) up there meaning less friction while he fell= More speed= also amazingly,No sound,he was faster then sound so he probably felt like he was floating insead of falling.

as for people wondering why he was hurt at the end of the movie and wh yhe was blowing his nose, Default inside the suit he wored wich was made for depressurising the air around him so he could breathe, just like the cabin inside a airplane or jet, but of course he was 3 times higher then any airplane and using 60s technology fro such a high accomplishement, its kinda hard to NOT mess up something..

Also ( I would be apart of these people) Some people think he should have been given the title of the first man in space, He was near the mesosphere wich is regulated as "Outer Space" and was there before anyone else,

This is the most epic thing ever, And im not saying what he did WAS Epic..I msaying it IS THE EPIC....What he did was do a thing practically no one could ever do i nthis world, he proved a point, and he did it well. He did this for the NASA To prove Albert Einstein point on velocity an gravity, By doing this "Project" He proved it. This inst some pointless jump for fun, He did it in the name of science, to hel pchange the world. Hes another guy who advanced the world in a very huge step.

When an object passes through the air, it creates a series of pressure waves in front of it and behind it, similar to the bow and stern waves created by a boat, and your correct mach 1 is 761mph exactly at sea level
n2dpun (January 5th, 2009 @ 6:32 am)
no he did NOT create a supersonic boom he nearly did he only made it to 714mph falling short of a supersonic boom
82guerrero (January 5th, 2009 @ 5:50 am)
yea he dose have them made of super sonicboom steel
seager13 (January 5th, 2009 @ 3:47 am)
Yes he did survive. And at one point he was supersonic creating a sonicboom. I believe he was air force, working with NASA.
